Gender Analyser

About GenderAnalyzer (BETA)

We created Genderanalyzer out of curiosity and fun. It uses Artificial Intelligence to determine if a homepage is written by a man or woman. Behind the scene, a text classifier hosted over at uClassify.com has been trained on 2000 blogs written by men and women. In our lab it seems to works pretty well, we want to see how it performs on the web! We hope you like it!

Curious about the GenderAnalyser, I had a look. First blog I submitted for analysis was Tim's. So far, so good, GA says it was written by a man. Then it was Cheryl's turn. I hope this doesn't upset you, Cheryl, but you're also a man according to GA. As are you, Pauline, and you, Rosz. As am I.

I'd be curious to know by what criteria it puts writing into one category or another. Maybe a bit more Hollywood gossip is required to be considered feminine?

I think it probably searches for words like nappy and menses.

Odd. Extremecraft (written by a man) showed as being written by a woman. He felt perhaps not enough fart jokes were contained within and vowed to make more. Perhaps I have too many.

I wonder what it would say about digby's blog?

I'm a man too. Is it wrong that I am strangely flattered by that?
