Ours was a bit special, of course, being the first with the kiddies. They weren't too quick on the uptake with the unwrapping idea, but enjoyed the paper and contents in the end.
We had the pleasure of Pauline join us for dinner at the in-laws' house. They're an interesting bunch: a family of eccentric classical musicians. Once dinner was served the TV went on since the Queensland Orchestra was on, in which brother-in-law plays. So we ignored him so we could spot him on the box. Can't say it added anything to proceedings, but hey, it was a small concession to a very nice fella.
